JTLRC Update 10/9/2020

As with everything else ‘COVID’ the James Taylor Lynching Remembrance Coalition has been delayed for a few months. Back in July, our application to the Equal Justice Initiative for a soil collection ceremony was accepted. In September we restarted our monthly meetings, now on Zoom. These will continue.

This past week, sub-committees began to work on adding members to our coalition; planning educational programs, organizing the EJI High School Essay Contest and assembling all the information about steps needed to conduct a Soil Collection Ceremony and a Marker. The dates for the Soil Collection Ceremony and the Marker will be set once the community decides that it is the right time.
