Last year's Howard Cooper Annual Remembrance Ceremony was held at the newly named Truth and Community Remembrance Park located at the corner of Bosley Avenue and Susquehanna Avenue, across the street from the Old Towson Jail where 15-year-old Howard Cooper was lynched in 1885.

To publicly acknowledge Cooper’s 1885 lynching and honor his memory, the Baltimore County Lynching Memorial Project (BaltCoLMP) held the brief ceremony of remembrance featuring two youth poet winners from the 2024 BaltCoLMP's Racial Justice Poetry Contest Exhibition, singer Ally Hunter-Harris, and Dr. Kalima Young (Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronic Media and Film and CoLab Co Director at Towson University).
To the delight of the gathering, Baltimore County Director of Recreation and Parks, Bob Smith, brought exciting news of the official decision to name the park the Truth and Community Remembrance Park.
